DINNER FOR EIGHT
Dinner with eight people 3 times a year with a simple scripture reading. Intergenerational. Great way to get to know different people.
Welcoming singers, musicians, actors, readers, creative-types, liturgists for Sunday morning and special services.
Greet folks on Sunday morning every other month! Be a first impression for West Hills.
Help people find seats, pass out bulletins, and take up the offering.
Serve communion on 1st or 3rd Sunday of the month.
Plan our adult Christian formation but brainstorming ideas, topics, teachers, and pedagogy.
PASTORAL CARE Receive training for visitations and pastoral care for congregants and community members.
Make and deliver meals for those in our community who are in need.
Host special events like newcomers lunch and holiday parties.
WELCOME TEAM/FOLLOW UP
Follow up with newcomers with a cup of coffee or a meal.
Everything from Sunday Bulletin, weekly email, flyers, website and more. Looking for designers, editors, and savvy marketing type folks.
Care for our babies (0-2 years old) on a rotating monthly schedule.
Always a need for teachers, volunteers for Sunday School, special events, and VBS.
4TH + 5TH (45ers) MINISTRY
Help serve in our class for 4th & 5th graders.
The Basement meets Sundays at 6:30pm. Volunteers welcomed! Youth Christian Formation meets 9:15am Sunday mornings.
LOCAL OUTREACH: NEIGHBORHOOD
West Hills hosts a dinner for Hayhurst families with face painting for children. The school shows a film and we host a parent seminar. Great way to build relationships with our neighbors!
OREGON FOOD BANK
West Hills has volunteers that go each month to the Oregon Food Bank.
GLOBAL OUTREACH: MISSIONS COMMISSION
We have a very active Missions Commission. We support 15 missionaries and send a short-term team each year to Kenya.
Founded by West Hills member, Miriam Won, Kizimani strives to build strong communities and economic opportunities in impoverished areas in Kenya.
